Today’s heart-centered key is GRATITUDE

I want to share with you some tips on how to increase gratitude in your everyday life.

Practicing gratitude should not be underestimated, even though it is as simple as finding things you are grateful for. It’s best to have a routine to help you stay focused on completing your gratitude practice daily. Incorporating a gratitude exercise into your daily routine for as little as three weeks has been shown to change the way our brain patterns work and help increase happiness. I want to share with you my favorite tips on how to increase gratitude in your life.

Journal your gratitude.
Write down at least three things you are grateful for every day. Oftentimes people think we need to find these “jackpot” things to be grateful for, but the truth is if we can start every day with gratitude, we can start focusing on the things we already have. When we focus on what we do have, our sense of lack disappears and the sense of what we have begins to increase.

Do a verbal gratitude report.
This is perfect for those who don’t like to journal. I started this with my son Dalton years ago and each night before bed and after our prayers, we say three things that we are grateful for. This is a great opportunity to think back over your day and see what you are most grateful for. Additionally, it gave me some insight into how his day had been. If you don’t have children, you can enlist others! It’s as simple as sending a text to a friend exchanging what each other is grateful for.

Create a gratitude mind map.
In the center of a sheet of paper or whatever material you want to use, write down “my gratitude” and circle it! All around the circle you write down everything you are grateful for each day. This is a great visual tool that allows you to see everything at once. If you are really artistic, you can hang this up in your home or office. This is also a great tool to get the whole family involved!

Before you go, remember…

Practicing future gratitude.
We can be thankful for things in the future. In the Bible, God tells us to be thankful for everything. More than even asking for something He’s promised to us, we can say thank you for it. This is a way you can have future gratitude.

Are you ready to start your gratitude journey? You will be feeling happier, more abundant, and fulfilled in no time!
